Don and Kitty Schiffert are to be applauded for hosting the combined Moose Mavericks/Eagles Roamers RV clubs campout at the VFW post in Chloride, Arizona. Fifteen rigs from Lake Havasu made the journey to the historical silver mining town to see the annual Gunfighters Rendezvous Shoot-Out that was held on the streets of "Cyanide Springs".
In addition to the shootouts there was a town-wide yard sale, antiques and crafts to be found nowhere else. Off-road trips through and over the Cerbat mountains and afternoons of fellowship and karaoke, plus scrumptious meals prepared by our hosts and her helpers.
Those in attendance were the Clarks,
Cousins,
Criquis,
Dorseys & Carol Murback,
Dutys,
Gundersons,
Liners,
McGlynns,
McLarens,
Melendezs,
O'Cambs,
Radus,
Richards,
Sanfords,
Siggs and the
Skinners. Day visitors were the Harry Minteys, Ray Greens and the Gary Sandells.
The weather was superior, warm sunny days and cool evenings. A storm came through Saturday night dropping more rain than Lake Havasu receives all year. When we awoke Sunday morning we found a portion of the campground under water, several RV's then moved out to higher ground. We experienced this same lake on a previous outing and named it "Lake Audrey".
